| The 2020 Grammy Nominees compilation features a refreshingly youthful mix of tracks that plays more closely to a NOW! collection, leaning heavily on mainstream pop, rap, R&B, and indie rock. Even the country selections -- outside of the venerable Brooks & Dunn and Little Big Town -- veer towards the new generation with Dan + Shay, Maren Morris, and Brothers Osborne. The nights big winner, Billie Eilish, kicks things off with her number one smash bad guy, while, on the other end of the victory spectrum, a completely shut out Ariana Grande contributes 7 rings and her collaboration with Social House, boyfriend. The years other headline-grabbing chart-toppers -- Lil Nas X and Lizzo -- are represented with the record-breaking Old Town Road and Truth Hurts, respectively. The hits keep coming with Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee, Sucker by Jonas Brothers, and Senorita from Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. And thats just a third of the runtime. Theres so much packed into this set that usual heavy-hitters Taylor Swift (Lover) and Beyonce (Spirit) are quietly buried in the back half, a good indication of the quality of this particular time in music.
